Jackson House

In 1971, three labor organizations, the West Kentucky Building and Construction Trades Council, the West Kentucky Area Council AFL-CIO, and the Kentucky State AFL-CIO, formed a non-profit corporation for the explicit purpose of building Jackson House, a residential facility designed for elderly and disable men and women. Three delegates from each of these sponsoring organizations formed the board of directors of the West Kentucky Senior Citizens Union Labor Housing Corporation. The dream of a high rise building to serve our senior citizens and disabled became a reality when the first residents moved in on February 1st 1974.

Jackson House offers affordable spacious one bedroom apartments for qualified persons. With the elimination of home ownership and maintenance we enable older persons and disabled persons to live active, rewarding lives in an independent residential setting.

In 2016 Jackson House was acquired by Jackson House II combining W.B. Sanders Retirement Center and Jackson House Apartments under Jackson House LLLP. This acquisition was the beginning of a major rehabilitation project under the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program. Every unit in our property was fully remodeled to include new plumbing, new fixtures, new cabinets, a step-in shower, built-in microwave, dishwasher, new windows, flooring and paint. This remodel project completed in late 2017 making Jackson House one of the most modern apartment communities in Western Kentucky.
